ACPC Convention News Release

The American Council for Polish Culture (ACPC) will be holding its 74th Annual Convention in San Antonio TX on July 26-29.  San Antonio is a city with many cultural attractions such as the Alamo, the famous River Walk with its many restaurants, various art museums, and the nearby missions.  Many convention attendees may wish to extend their visit pre- or post- Convention to see the sights around this southwestern metropolis.

Newsletter Issue

The theme of our Convention is Illuminating Our Past, Energizing Our Future.  The roots of immigration from Poland to Texas will be highlighted in special presentations, highlighted by a full day visitation trip to the recently built Polish Heritage Center at historical Panna Maria, the first Polish settlement in America!  Every Polish American should visit this Center to understand the grit and determination exhibited by early Poles to survive and eventually thrive in a new environment. 

Convention attendees and interested parties will be accommodated at the elegant St. Anthony Hotel

The St. Anthony, a Luxury Collection Hotel, opened in 1909 and has been designated as a national historic site.  It has been recently renovated and upgraded.  We are offering a special daily rate of $169 per night to those who register by June 26.

July 26 - Tuesday 

      4:00 Registration 

      6:00 – 8:00 Reception on Rooftop Terrace with panoramic views of the city

Juiy 27 - Wednesday

      9:00 – 2:30 Opening Ceremony, Keynote Address, Business Meeting, Lunch with Guest Speaker

      5:00 Marcella Kochanska Sembrich Award Concert followed by reception


July 28 - Thursday

      8:30 – 3:00 Trip to historic Panna Maria Polish Heritage Center

o   Polish Heritage Center explores Polish roots in Silesia and establishment of Polish settlements in Texas

o   Guest speaker

o   Museum displays artifacts from early settlement

o   Gift shop with Polish and Texas with handmade crafts and souvenirs

o   Texas barbecue lunch

o   Visit to ranch with awesome Texas longhorn steers

      7:00 -9:00 Mariachi Band in hotel veranda

July 29 - Friday

      9:00-12:00  Conclusion of Business Meeting with Elections

      12:00- 1:30 Post-Convention Board Meeting and Lunch

      6:00-7:00 Awards Banquet Cocktail Hour

      7:00-10:00 Awards Banquet


The Convention rate, which covers the cost of all activities listed, is $475.00. We will be sending out registration information shortly.  We also understand that there may be interested persons who do not want to attend the business meetings but want to socialize and enjoy the concert, the visit to Panna Maria, and the Banquet.  We will provide a package rate for non-delegates.


A special issue of the ACPC Polish Heritage Newsletter exclusively dedicated to promoting attendance at our Convention has been printed (see above for PDF version)   But the best promoter for this Convention is YOU!  Encourage your club members, friends and relatives to attend.  You do not have to be an ACPC member to partake in these activities!  We hope to see all of you in San Antonio.
