The Kosciuszko Foundation is celebrating 100 years of impact
For the past century, ACPC member, the KF has strengthened the Polish American community through education, cultural exchange, and the promotion of mutual understanding between Poland and the United States. Founded in 1925 in New York City by visionary Polish immigrant Stephen Mizwa, the Foundation was built on the belief that education is the key to success. Today, the Foundation invests up to $2 million annually in educational and cultural programs that elevate Polish voices in America and deepen Polish–American relations. Mizwa drew inspiration from Tadeusz Kościuszko—hero of both Polish and American independence and a lifelong advocate for human rights. He established an institution that would, over the next hundred years, transform countless lives and elevate Polish culture on the global stage.
Since its inception, the Kościuszko Foundation has enabled individuals to pursue their academic and professional aspirations through a wide range of educational programs. Our flagship initiatives—including Exchange to Poland, Exchange to the U.S., Summer Studies, Tuition Scholarships, and Special Grants—have opened doors to meaningful careers in the arts, sciences, humanities, and public life, while strengthening cultural ties between the two nations.
