Goals of the Revolutionary War 250 Project
- Celebrate the 250th Anniversary of the independence of the United States along with all Americans.
- Honor Poles who came to the aid of the Continental Army, fought and died for the principles of the Declaration of Independence and the freedoms it sought for all citizens.
- Inform and educate Americans about the roles, achievements, and sacrifices those Poles made in securing our nation’s independence.
- Partner with American governmental agencies, Polonia organizations, and Polish governmental entities in sponsoring and hosting these events.
Events in which Poles and Polish Americans were involved during the Revolutionary War period from 1776 to 1782.
The criteria for selection of events included historic significance, site access, and local government and citizen support. The timing of the celebration of those events will try to coincide with their actual 250th anniversary date in cooperation with local organization efforts.
Watch this space for detailed announcements of upcoming events in the months and years ahead. The first three events planned, include:
- The 250th Anniversary of Gen. Kazimierz Pułaski’s Arrival in the American Colonies.
- The 250th Anniversary of Gen. Tadeusz Kościuszko’s presentation to the Continental Congress.
- The 250th Anniversary of Gen. Kazimierz Pułaski meeting General George Washington in Hartsville, Pennsylvania.
