Polish Home in Omaha, NE
By 1925, over 10,000 Poles, the majority from Galicia, settled in the Omaha, Nebraska area. These early immigrants to Omaha faced many hardships, and worked in the packing plants.
Thus, a “Polski Dom”, was established in Omaha in 1933 to help ease the transition from the old way of life to the new, promoting Polish culture, heritage, traditions, folklore, and civic activities. Since then, it has grown into the area’s premier Polish cultural club and meeting facility. Today, it sways and swings with a constant stream of celebratory activities.
